The Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles (9-1) secured a 21-17 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs (7-3) at Arrowhead Stadium on Monday night in a rematch of Super Bowl 57.

In a reversal of roles from the previous season, where the Chiefs emerged victorious with a 38-35 win, it was Jalen Hurts and his team who mounted a comeback for the win. Hurts and D’Andre Swift contributed all three of the Eagles’ touchdowns on the ground. Despite trailing 17-7 at halftime, the Eagles managed to prevent the Chiefs from scoring in the second half.

Reflecting on the game, Hurts emphasized the importance of finding a way to win in the NFL, acknowledging the team’s resilience and perseverance. In an interview with ESPN’s Laura Rutledge after the game, Hurts stated, “In this league, it’s all about finding a way to win, whether it’s ugly in the first quarter, second quarter, third quarter, how are you gonna find a way in the end. That’s one thing about this team tonight is we had resilience, we persevered, regardless of what happened early on, we found a way to win in the end and that’s what matters.” The Philadelphia Eagles

Late in the fourth quarter, Patrick Mahomes faced fourth-and-25 after Marquez Valdes-Scantling dropped a pass en route to the end zone. Justin Watson dropped the deep ball on the fourth-down conversion attempt as he was covered by three Eagles defenders. The Chiefs offense has dropped a league-high 26 catches this season, according to the ESPN broadcast.
