The IDF Military Police initiated an investigation on Friday following the release of security camera footage by a rights group. The video, made public by B’Tselem, captures an incident in the West Bank where Israeli troops shot and killed two Palestinians at close range.
The footage, filmed in the al-Faraa refugee camp in the Jordan Valley on December 8, documents an IDF pursuit of a group of Palestinian men attempting to flee upon the arrival of an IDF jeep. Soldiers from the jeep open fire, hitting 25-year-old Rami Jundob, who appears to be holding an explosive device. Jundob falls to the ground, and the jeep advances closer, with one of the soldiers firing at him again. The IDF Military Police’s investigation was launched in response to the concerning events depicted in the video footage.

Soldiers open fire from the jeep, hitting 25-year-old Rami Jundob, who appears to be holding an explosive device. As Jundob falls, the jeep approaches him, and one of the soldiers fires at him again.
At 00:21 in the video, Jundob is seen lifting his hand before the soldiers continue firing repeatedly at him from close range. Following a brief pause, the soldier driving the jeep briefly exits to photograph Jundob, who, according to B’Tselem, succumbed to his wounds the next day.
The footage then shows Thaar Shahin, a 36-year-old Palestinian, peeking up from behind a car several meters away from Jundob.
