Mark Gurman reports that an upcoming launch event later this month may unveil a new 24-inch iMac and new MacBook Pros.
According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, it appears that the rumors of an Apple product launch event this month are indeed true, and it could bring long-anticipated updates to the iMac. Gurman’s sources suggest that a Mac launch event is in the works for this month, with indications from retail supplies and shipping dates for certain models, hinting at the introduction of a new iMac and possibly some new MacBook Pros.
Gurman pointed out, “Apple retail stores are in short supply of the iMac, as well as the 13-inch MacBook Pro and high-end MacBook Pro — two other models that may be due for a refresh.” Shipping estimates for these models currently show delays until November, and the timing of Apple’s earnings call, scheduled for November this year instead of the usual October, adds weight to the idea that Apple has something planned. Gurman speculates that the launch event might occur around October 30 or 31.
The 24-inch M1 iMac was released in April 2021 and hasn’t seen an update since, making it a prime candidate for a refresh. Additionally, the 13-inch M2 MacBook Pro, introduced in June 2022, is also expected to receive upgrades.
In its recent quarterly earnings report, Netflix unveiled price increases for two of its subscription plans. The Basic plan, which was temporarily discontinued earlier this year, will see a price hike from $10 to $12 for existing customers who were grandfathered into this plan. Additionally, the Premium plan’s price is increasing from $20 to $23. Mark Gurman reports
However, Netflix has confirmed that its ad-supported and Standard plans will maintain their current pricing, standing at $7 and $15.49, respectively. This price adjustment comes after the last price increase introduced by the company in early 2022.
