President Joe Biden

President Joe Biden has been an unwavering supporter of Israel in its conflict with Hamas. However, the Biden administration is also strongly committed to providing assistance to the civilian population in the war-torn Gaza Strip.

In recent developments, the Israeli military has expanded its operations, targeting locations in Syria, the West Bank, and Gaza. This has raised concerns about the conflict potentially spreading further across the Middle East. President Biden has issued a warning to Iran and other adversaries in the region, urging them to refrain from involvement in the conflict.

As these military actions escalate, a convoy of trucks carrying humanitarian aid, originally scheduled to enter Gaza from Egypt, finally arrived late on Sunday after facing delays. The UN’s relief chief, Martin Griffiths, reported that 14 trucks, albeit six fewer than the previous day, successfully reached Gaza via the Rafah border crossing.

In a message of optimism, he tweeted, “This offers yet another small ray of hope for the millions of people desperately requiring humanitarian aid.” He emphasized, however, that the demand for such assistance remains substantial.

President Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu conveyed their assurance that this assistance is on its way. In a joint White House statement released after a phone call on Sunday, they “reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring a continuous and essential flow of aid into Gaza.”

Israel has been relentlessly striking Gaza since the shocking and brutal attack by Hamas on October 7, which resulted in the death of over 1,000 Israelis and the seizure of more than 200 hostages. Just in the overnight air raids between Saturday and Sunday, at least 55 people were killed, and 30 homes were destroyed, as reported by the Hamas government press office. President Joe Biden

On Sunday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian issued a warning to both Israel and the U.S, stating that “if they do not immediately halt what he termed a crime against humanity and genocide in Gaza, anything is possible at any moment, and the region may spiral out of control.”
