The Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens having secured the No. 1 seed in the AFC, are opting to rest some key players in their regular-season finale against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 18. This decision is aimed at minimizing the risk of injuries to key contributors before the postseason kicks off.

As of the injury report released on Thursday, several players have been ruled out for the game. Notably, Lamar Jackson, the MVP favorite, and wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. will not be participating in Week 18. Jackson and Beckham Jr. are both listed as “rest/coaches decision.” Additionally, starting right guard Kevin Zeitler is listed as out with a knee/quad injury, with his absence attributed to a coaches’ decision.

Other key players ruled out include Pro Bowl cornerback Marlon Humphrey (calf injury), linebacker Malik Harrison (groin injury), and defensive back Daryl Worley (shoulder/ankle injury). The Ravens are strategically managing their roster to prioritize player health and readiness for the upcoming postseason.

Lamar Jackson has had a solid season, boasting a 67.2% completion rate, 3,678 passing yards, 24 passing touchdowns, seven interceptions, and contributing significantly on the ground with 148 rushes for 821 yards and five rushing touchdowns.

Odell Beckham Jr. has accumulated 35 receptions for 565 yards and three touchdowns in the 14 games he has played this season. some key players

As for the Pittsburgh Steelers, they currently hold a 9-7 record, ranking third in the AFC North and sitting as the No. 9 seed in the AFC. A victory in their upcoming game could significantly enhance their chances of reaching the playoffs. However, even with a loss, there is a potential scenario where they extend their season, depending on the outcomes of other games. The Steelers’ playoff path could be facilitated by a win combined with either a Buffalo Bills or Jacksonville Jaguars loss.

In their previous matchup this season, the Steelers emerged victorious with a 17-10 win. Pittsburgh is currently on a two-game win streak after facing initial challenges with three losses in December.

The Ravens are 13-3 and coming off a dominant 56-19 win over the Miami Dolphins. Baltimore is on a six-game win streak, though they will look a lot different this week with some key starters out.

As of the latest odds from Caesars Sportsbook, the Baltimore Ravens currently hold the second-best odds to win the Super Bowl at +330. The team with the best odds is the San Francisco 49ers from the NFC, with odds set at +215. These odds reflect the bookmakers’ assessment of the teams’ performances and potential in the postseason, with the Ravens positioned as strong contenders for the championship.
