the personal aftermath

“It’s felt like the abuse that I was in has just not ended,” said Grace Jabbari today in court of the personal aftermath of Jonathan Majors’ arrest on domestic abuse charges against her back in March.

The British National continued her testimony in the trial of Majors, recounting the events of March 25 in New York City involving her then-boyfriend and describing the strained nature of her relationship with the Creed III star leading up to that day.

During questioning from both the Manhattan District Attorney’s office and the defense, the witness, Jabbari, exhibited visible distress, especially when addressing topics such as the suicide of another ex-partner. Despite the emotional difficulty, Jabbari, a self-described “professional dancer” who had been in a relationship with Majors for nearly two years, remained steadfast in her assertions about the physical altercation that occurred eight months prior, emphasizing who initiated the physical contact and the reasons behind it.

During her testimony, Jabbari bluntly asserted that Majors “knows what he’s done” and accused him of cheating on her and attacking her. She mentioned that she learned not to fight back. Despite being in close proximity to Majors, she maintained her statements about the alleged assault. Defense lawyer Priya Chaudhry attempted to establish that Majors did not harm the witness that night, citing the absence of screaming or retaliation. the personal aftermath

Majors had pleaded not guilty to assault and harassment charges months ago. If found guilty, he could face up to a year behind bars. The decision to take the case to trial, rather than pursuing a plea deal, is uncommon in misdemeanor cases like this one. The fallout from the incident with Jabbari may be a contributing factor to Majors’ decision to go to trial.

Following the March incident, Majors faced professional consequences, including being dropped by his management company, Entertainment 360, and publicist, The Lede Company, in April. Previously announced roles for the Emmy-nominated actor, known for his role in Lovecraft Country, were affected, and ad campaigns were pulled. In a significant blow, Disney removed Magazine Dreams, a film in which Majors had a starring role, from its release schedule in October. The film had initially generated Oscar buzz for Majors’ performance.
