OpenAI has postponed the launch of its GPT Store to early 2024, as revealed in an email obtained by The Verge. The GPT Store, intended for users to list and potentially monetize their custom AI bots, was initially set for a November release. However, with the unexpected leadership changes, including the temporary removal and subsequent reinstatement of CEO Sam Altman, the company faced delays.
The email to GPT Builder users on Friday stated, “In terms of what’s next, we are now planning to launch the GPT Store early next year. While we had expected to release it this month, a few things have been keeping us unexpectedly busy!” The message also mentioned ongoing improvements to GPTs based on user feedback and hinted at forthcoming updates to ChatGPT. OpenAI has postponed
OpenAI has undergone a leadership reorganization, confirming the return of Sam Altman as CEO, with Mira Murati as CTO and Greg Brockman as President. Additionally, a new initial board has been formed, including representation from Microsoft, its major investor, in a non-voting observer capacity.
In short ChatGPT is just about everywhere. Few industries have remained untouched by the viral adoption of the generative AI’s tools. On the first anniversary of its release, let’s take a look back on the year of ChatGPT that brought us here.
