Matthew Perry’s cause of death was “deferred,” according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner. 

“An autopsy was completed today, and toxicology results are pending,” a representative for the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s office confirmed to Fox News Digital. Perry died Saturday after an apparent drowning in a hot tub at his home in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles on Saturday, law enforcement sources confirmed to Fox News Digital. He was 54. 

The co-creators of “Friends,” Marta Kauffman and David Crane, along with the executive producer Kevin Bright, expressed their profound grief over the passing of Matthew Perry in a statement shared with Fox News Digital. Their statement reads, “We are shocked and deeply, deeply saddened by our beloved friend Matthew’s passing. It still seems impossible. All we can say is that we feel blessed to have had him as part of our lives.” the Los Angeles County

They went on to praise Perry’s exceptional talent, stating, “He was a brilliant talent. It’s a cliche to say that an actor makes a role their own, but in Matthew’s case, there are no truer words. From the day we first heard him embody the role of Chandler Bing, there was no one else for us.”
