This intense scrutiny followed rumors that David, the renowned soccer star, had been unfaithful to Victoria, the former Spice Girls member, shortly after his transfer from Manchester United to Real Madrid.
David, who vehemently denied the allegations, recalls the distressing period in April 2004 when tabloid reports swirled, saying, “There were some distressing stories that were incredibly hard to navigate. It marked the first time that Victoria and I had been subjected to such intense pressure within our marriage.”
Victoria, speaking publicly about these rumors for the first time, reveals the profound impact these accusations had on their relationship. She says, “Absolutely, it was the most challenging period for us.” The fashion designer, who married the co-owner of Inter Miami in 1999, goes on to explain, “It felt like the entire world was against us. What’s more, truth be told, it sometimes felt like we were against each other. You see, leading up to our time in Madrid, it often felt like it was ‘us against the world.’ We were together, we were united, we had each other’s support. However, when we arrived in Spain, it didn’t quite feel like we had each other either. And that’s truly heartbreaking.”

Witnessing her in pain was incredibly challenging. But we are fighters, and during that time, we needed to fight not just for ourselves but for our family as well. What we had was worth the battle.”
