This includes inquiries into the storage locations of documents, briefing books, notes, notecards, as well as questions about President Biden’s personal iPad and cell phone and whether any classified materials were ever accessed on these devices.
Spokespeople for Robert Hur, the State Department, President Biden’s personal attorney, and the White House have declined to provide comments on this matter. Additionally, an attorney representing Secretary of State Antony Blinken has also refrained from making a statement.”

“From 2017 to 2019, Antony Blinken served as the managing director of the Penn Biden Center. Prior to this role, he had a longstanding association with President Biden, having previously served as his national security adviser during President Barack Obama’s first term. Their association spans over two decades, originating when President Biden was a U.S. senator.
When classified documents were discovered at the Penn Biden Center late last year, Blinken, in a statement to reporters, asserted that he had no prior knowledge of the situation but was fully committed to cooperating with the Justice Department’s review. The White House also expressed its willingness to cooperate in the matter.

President Biden has attempted to minimize his legal liability in this matter. A week after Robert Hur’s appointment as special counsel and in response to questions from reporters regarding why he did not disclose the documents prior to the November midterm elections, President Biden stated that they had come across ‘a handful of documents’ that had been ‘misfiled’ and that he was cooperating with both the National Archives and the Justice Department.”

Meanwhile, special counsel Jack Smith’s team has vigorously pursued former President Trump and two of his aides in their investigation into Trump’s handling of classified records following his departure from office. In the indictment against Trump, prosecutors assert a conspiracy spanning several months to obstruct government attempts to retrieve classified documents from his Mar-a-Lago estate in the summer of 2020. This alleged obstruction included purportedly concealing these documents from the FBI and even Trump’s own attorney.
According to the indictment, when the FBI conducted a search at Mar-a-Lago in August of the previous year, they reportedly uncovered over 100 classified documents that Trump had allegedly failed to surrender in defiance of a federal grand jury subpoena.”
Regarding President Biden’s situation, it’s worth noting that all of the classified documents discovered in places connected to him were voluntarily handed over to the government, as stated by Biden’s legal team at the time.
“We have every confidence that a comprehensive examination will reveal that these documents were unintentionally mislaid,” remarked one of Biden’s attorneys in a statement following Robert Hur’s appointment.
In contrast, former President Trump and his aides have consistently denied the allegations leveled against them and have entered pleas of not guilty.
