Former UFC champion Conor McGregor ripped the prime minister of Ireland for “downplaying” the kidnapping and eventual release of an Irish-Israeli child by Hamas terrorists on Saturday.

UFC superstar McGregor criticized Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar, calling him a “disgrace” for his use of the terms “lost” and “found” in describing the abduction and subsequent release of 9-year-old Emily Hand. In a message on X (formerly Twitter), McGregor expressed his frustration, stating, “She was abducted by an evil terrorist organization. What is with you and your government and your paid-for media affiliates constantly downplaying/attempting to repress horrific acts that happen to children. You are a disgrace.”

McGregor was referring to Hand, who was kidnapped by Hamas terrorists from her friend, Hila’s, house in Kibbutz Be’eri in southern Israel on Oct. 7, along with Hila and Hila’s mother.

X flagged the prime minister’s post for context, noting, “Emily Hand was kidnapped by Hamas Terrorists on October 7th. The use of the term ‘lost’ is inappropriate and fails to highlight that she was released as part of a hostage deal.” Former UFC champion
