On Sunday, Lebanese authorities reported a tragic incident in which an Israeli airstrike targeted a vehicle in southern Lebanon, resulting in the unfortunate deaths of three children and their grandmother. Concurrently, the Israeli military confirmed that an attack carried out by Hezbollah, a group supported by Iran, from within Lebanese territory had claimed the life of an Israeli citizen in northern Israel.
Hezbollah promptly responded to the Israeli airstrike, which tragically claimed the lives of three girls aged between 10 and 14, by launching a series of Grad rockets towards the town of Kiryat Shmona in northern Israel.
This incident signifies the inaugural instance in which Hezbollah has publicly acknowledged employing this specific weaponry during four weeks of confrontations with Israeli forces, underscoring the heightened potential for an escalation of the conflict.
In an official statement, Hezbollah reiterated its commitment to not tolerating attacks on civilians and emphasized that its response would be resolute and formidable.
Hezbollah lawmaker Hassan Fadlallah conveyed to Reuters, “The enemy will bear the consequences for its transgressions against civilians.”
According to Israel’s military, its troops engaged a vehicle that was identified as a potential transport for militants in Lebanon on Sunday, and they are currently investigating reports that civilians may have been present inside the vehicle.

Footage broadcast by television station al-Mayadeen showed rescue workers removing one of the casualties from the still-smouldering remains of the car.
A report by the Lebanese security forces said the children were killed when Israel targeted the car they were in as it drove between the villages of Aynata and Aitaroun.
