Michael Cohen, former Trump ally and attorney , slammed former President Trump’s sons’ recent testimony in the New York civil fraud trial.
Cohen joined MSNBC’s Ali Velshi to talk about the former president, his sons and the ongoing fraud trial that he previously testified in.
Cohen expressed his belief that both of Donald Trump’s children, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, provided false testimony under oath and are following in their father’s footsteps in this regard.
He commented, “I mean, the guy lies the way you breathe, and the kids are doing the same thing. How stupid do they have to be?” Cohen was referring to the former president and his sons.
During their consecutive testimonies on Thursday, the Trump children distanced themselves from any involvement in their father’s financial statements and sought to dissociate from Trump Organization financial statements, which are crucial to New York Attorney General Letitia James’ case against the Trump family business. The case brought by Attorney General James alleges that Trump, his sons, and the organization engaged in inflating and deflating the value of their assets to obtain tax benefits and favorable insurance coverage. In their testimonies, both Donald Jr. and Eric Trump denied any involvement.
Cohen also raised questions about the level of legal preparation the Trump sons had before their testimonies and wondered if they were taking the trial seriously or treating it as a joke.
