A Brooklyn construction company is at the center of a federal investigation into campaign contributions to New York City Mayor Eric Adams, according to multiple reports of a search warrant executed by federal agents.
KSK Construction Group is a company that specializes in condominium and hotel development, primarily in the vicinity of its headquarters located in Williamsburg. The company has also undertaken various projects in other areas within the city. The New York Times has reported that federal investigators are examining the company’s connections to the Turkish government as part of an ongoing investigation into the mayor’s campaign fundraising activities.
During a fundraiser on May 7, 2021, individuals who identified themselves as employees of KSK made contributions totaling nearly $14,000 to Eric Adams’ mayoral campaign, as revealed in city campaign finance disclosures. These contributions from KSK employees played a significant role in making the campaign eligible for $18,000 in public matching funds. This financial support provided Adams’ campaign with an added advantage, particularly during a closely contested Democratic primary race.
Gothamist attempted to contact by phone the 11 contributors who listed KSK as their employer on the disclosure forms. Two immediately hung up after a reporter identified themselves. None of the remaining people returned messages left by voicemail. A Brooklyn construction
KSK has not been charged with wrongdoing related to campaign contributions. A person who answered the phone at the KSK office Friday said the company declined to comment on the investigation, the accusations or whether the FBI visited their office.
