A former nurse

A former nurse from Pennsylvania, Heather Pressdee, who had previously faced accusations of killing two patients by administering lethal doses of insulin in May, is now facing additional murder charges. She has also confessed to attempting to kill 19 more individuals at multiple locations, according to authorities.

Heather Pressdee, aged 41, is alleged to have administered excessive amounts of insulin to patients under her care, including both diabetic patients who required insulin and non-diabetic patients, as reported by the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office. Tragically, a total of 17 patients in her care have passed away.

Pressdee has admitted to attempting to kill 19 other patients by administering insulin at five different rehabilitation centers across the state. These attempts began as far back as 2020 and continued until this year, according to the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office.

Pennsylvania Attorney General Michelle Henry expressed deep concern, stating, “The allegations against Ms. Pressdee are disturbing. It is hard to comprehend how a nurse, trusted to care for her patients, could choose to deliberately and systematically harm them. The damage done to the victims and their loved ones cannot be overstated. Every person in a medical or care facility should feel safe and cared for, and my office will work tirelessly to hold the defendant accountable for her crimes and protect care-dependent Pennsylvanians from future harm.”

Pressdee now faces two counts of first-degree murder, 17 counts of attempted murder, and 19 counts of neglect of a care-dependent person. A former nurse

These alleged crimes took place while Pressdee was employed as a registered nurse at various facilities, including Concordia at Rebecca Residence, Belair Healthcare and Rehabilitation (Guardian), Quality Life Services Chicora, Premier Armstrong Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, and Sunnyview Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Notably, Pressdee typically administered the insulin during overnight shifts when staffing levels were low, and immediate hospitalization would not be prompted.

The victims of these incidents ranged in age from 43 to 104 years old.

Heather Pressdee was arraigned on Thursday and waived her preliminary hearing on these charges. She is currently held in custody at Butler County Prison without bail.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about these incidents or Heather Pressdee to contact the Office of the Attorney General’s tipline at 888-538-8541.
