We now know the name of the man police are searching for in the brutal shooting death of a father and son.
Bladimy Mathurin, 47, and his 27-year-old stepson Chinwai Mode were shot to death on Sunday night, police say by their downstairs neighbor, 47-year-old Jason Pass, whom they had an ongoing noise dispute with The New York Police Department (NYPD) disclosed that the suspect, Alex Pass, had called the non-emergency line, 311, six times since March 2022 to report noise complaints against his upstairs neighbors, primarily due to what he perceived as excessive banging on the floor.
Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny explained, “Noise complaints, basically people walking. Apartment upstairs did not have carpeting, so people walking back and forth generated these calls.”
The building’s management confirmed that complaints had been filed by residents of both apartments, and they had offered mediation as a solution, although it was never implemented.
In response to these allegations, the victims’ wife and mother, Marie Delille, revealed that Pass had initiated the confrontation by banging on the ceiling, prompting her husband to respond by banging on the floor. She expressed her disbelief that Pass had brought a gun to the situation, causing the tragic outcome.
Brooklyn Councilwoman Farah Louis extended her support to the grieving family, emphasizing that the victim, Mathurin, a father of four, worked two jobs as an Uber and school bus driver to support his family.
As the police continue their search for Alex Pass, various community groups and anti-violence organizations, such as Elite Learners, Inc., gathered outside the building to condemn gun violence and urge Pass to turn himself in. the man police
