The creation of this vibrant image involved observations conducted with Hubble’s Wide Field Camera 3 instrument, utilizing five distinct filters to capture the data. Subsequent post-processing techniques were applied to accentuate the intricate details of emissions from doubly ionized oxygen, represented in shades of blue, as well as ionized hydrogen and ionized nitrogen, showcased in various shades of red. Scheduled for launch on October 29, 2023, at 9:35 p.m. MDT, the Integral Field Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Experiment, or INFUSE, sounding rocket mission will take flight from the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. Its mission is to shed light on the mechanisms by which explosive stellar deaths pave the way for the emergence of new star systems.
