Donald Trump on Saturday unleashed a series of attacks on the judge overseeing his New York civil fraud trial after he issued a ruling requiring his daughter, Ivanka Trump, to testify.
In a post to Truth Social, the former president derided the judge, Arthur Engoron, as “unhinged” and “an out of control ‘Nut Job,’” contending that Ivanka Trump should not have to testify after she was dismissed as a defendant in June.
In a recent social media post, former President Trump expressed his belief that someone holds strong negative sentiments towards him, stating, “I truly believe he is CRAZY, but certainly, at a minimum, CRAZED in his hatred of me.”
Trump’s social media commentary did not stop there. He went on to label the individual in question, Justice Arthur Engoron, as “grossly incompetent,” “a partisan political hack,” and a “Radical Trump Hater.” This is part of an ongoing pattern where Trump has repeatedly targeted Engoron, as well as other individuals involved in a legal case, such as New York Attorney General Tish James.
A significant development in this ongoing dispute was when Trump posted a picture of Engoron’s clerk alongside Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, falsely claiming a romantic relationship between them. This led the judge to impose a gag order prohibiting Trump from making disparaging remarks about court personnel. a series of attacks
Furthermore, Trump has faced financial penalties for violating this gag order, with a $10,000 fine imposed on Wednesday for his second violation.
The legal context of these actions revolves around a lawsuit filed by New York Attorney General Tish James against Trump, alleging extensive business fraud. Additionally, Trump is currently facing several criminal investigations at both the state and federal levels.
