Severe storms wreaked

Severe storms wreaked havoc in central Tennessee on Saturday, claiming the lives of six individuals and sending approximately two dozen to the hospital. The destructive weather caused significant damage to homes and businesses across multiple cities.

In Montgomery County, just north of Nashville near the Kentucky state line, three people, including a child, lost their lives in an apparent tornado, according to county officials. Simultaneously, the Nashville Emergency Operation Center reported three fatalities resulting from severe storms in a neighborhood situated just north of downtown. Additionally, 23 individuals were hospitalized for injuries sustained in Montgomery County.

Images shared by the Clarksville fire department on social media depicted houses in disarray with debris scattered across lawns, a toppled tractor-trailer on a highway, and building walls stripped of insulation.

Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts expressed profound sorrow in a statement, stating, “This is devastating news, and our hearts are broken for the families of those who lost loved ones. The city stands ready to help them in their time of grief.” Severe storms wreaked

The victims identified by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, killed in the storm north of downtown, include Joseph Dalton, 37; Floridema Gabriel Perez, 31; and her son, Anthony Elmer Mendez, 2. Dalton was tragically inside his mobile home when the storm tossed it onto Perez’s residence. Two other children, one from each home, were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, as stated by the department in an official release.

Details regarding the other three fatalities were not immediately available as of Saturday night.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reported that a tornado touched down around 2 p.m., prompting the establishment of a shelter at a local high school.
