Israel on Monday released security camera footage from Oct. 7, which shows Hamas gunmen who crossed into Israel chase people from an outdoor music festival, with one seen executing a woman at point-blank range.
Israel is seeking to fend off international criticism for its response to the Hamas rampage, which sparked a devastating war in Gaza. Despite mounting calls for a ceasefire, Israel has said it will push on with its campaign until Hamas is eradicated.
“This is a war between good and evil,” proclaimed a post accompanying video footage shared on social media, associated with an account linked to Israel’s Foreign Ministry. The video captures individuals fleeing from Hamas gunmen during an incident near the border on October 7 that escalated into a massacre.
Towards the end of the video, a distressing scene unfolds in the background. A woman, pursued by a gunman, crouches on the ground, and moments later, the gunman, standing beside her, raises his rifle and fires at close range. Tragically, the woman falls to the ground. security camera footage
The video, lacking audio, captures a dust cloud rising as the trigger is pulled. The woman in the footage remains unidentified. Reuters verified the location near Kibbutz Alumim through the road layout, trees, and nearby buildings, aligning with satellite imagery of the area.
As pressure mounts on Israel to agree to a ceasefire in Gaza, the Hamas-run government reports a toll of at least 13,300 casualties, including 5,600 children.
