Citizens across the United States participated in Tuesday’s off-year election, using their ballots to weigh in on contentious ballot measures, closely contested gubernatorial races, and more.

On this election night, Democrats celebrated several victories. Andy Beshear, the Governor of Kentucky, secured his re-election. Ohio voters passed a crucial ballot measure aimed at safeguarding abortion rights within the state. In Virginia, Democrats emerged victorious by gaining control of both the state’s Senate and House of Delegates.

Meanwhile, in Mississippi, the Republican incumbent Governor Tate Reeves emerged triumphant after Democratic candidate Brandon Presley conceded the governor’s race.

Republican Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves won reelection on Tuesday, officially defeating Democratic challenger candidate Brandon Presley.
